Fun with RB's

(Wednesday) Today was a step in the right direction. Nick played his best tourney so far, and he was rewarded with a move into 1st place in our competition because I failed to use this tourney as one of my ten. I cashed, but not very deep. It helped keep our team in the Pocket 5's contest though. We are a fair amount back still, but Team AJK and Team USC doesn't have as much room to improve as us (though any cashes will definitely solidify their chances) because most of their scores are fairly solid.

Interestingly Team AJK has started calling themselves Sleeping Giant Dynasty on the pocket 5s contest page. I guess they read my blog at some point when I called them the "sleeping giant", or else that is a very big coincidence. If you are reading it, hopefully I'll run into you guys sometime out on the circuit (maybe the WSOP this summer). Good luck to you!

Before I post the standings, here are two funny conversations and a strange occurence I had during the tourney:

35 minutes into the FT $300 NLH 6 Handed RB

Wise words from Toph

toph4423 (8:34:37 PM): this structure kinda sucks
vioxc (8:35:14 PM): post rb (rebuy) period it should be decent i think
toph4423 (8:43:33 PM): oh shit
toph4423 (8:43:35 PM): this is a rebuy
toph4423 (8:43:37 PM): i had no idea

Wise words from BlueFlare

MidgetJihad (10:36:25 PM): nice one
MidgetJihad (10:36:29 PM): !!!!!
vioxc (10:36:51 PM): very borderline
vioxc (10:37:02 PM): felt he might do it weak
MidgetJihad (10:37:09 PM): results are what matter

Then I had the ultimate coin flip:

Shortly, after the bubble burst a guy raised to about 3K and I picked up AKs. I shoved for about 12K, and he instacalled with JJ. At this point my internet went down so I had no idea if I had won or not. Finally, I got a hold of Nick and found out I had indeed won. Also, we went into break soon after the hand, and by the time I got the internet back up, it was time to start up again.
and now the standings:

Nick 82.46 pts (7 events used)
Tom 68.87 pts (8 events used)
Chris 47.85 pts (6 events used)
Toph 31.76 pts (5 event used)
Jason 26.69 pts (7 events used)

and in the Pocket 5's contest:

Team AJKHoosier 1833.56 pts
Team USCphildo 1782.38 pts
House of Pain (us) 1739.67 pts
Team Stu Paterson 1647.12 pts (estimate pending cane's finish in current tourney)
Team The_Dean 1559.02 pts
Team Intervention 1027.17 pts
